Donation keeps new community gym in shape for the future

Milton of Campsie Community Gym, based at the village hall, has received a funding boost from the local community council.

Milton of Campsie Community Council have handed £200 to the project to purchase mats, medicine balls and kettle balls.

The scheme has also made enough profit from entry fees to fund three new medicine balls.

They have been added to the boxing aquipment, workstations, steps, footballs, rowing machines and weights already donated by supporters Pat Bannan Fitness, Jamie McGuire, Craig Mcilveney, Jim McCrory, Yvonne McGuire, Gregor Summers, Kami Kalsi and Brian Meechan.

The opening night of the gym, at the start of the month, attracted over 50 people - who were put through their paces by fitness instructors.

Attending the gym sessions costs £2 for adults and £1 for children and is free for anybody who is unemployed.
