Doubts over Lanark charity cash from transfer of Silver Bell race
As reported in the Gazette at the time, a deal struck between Hamilton Park Racecourse, the charity Cash For Kids and Lanark Community Council was expected to see thousands of pounds coming the Royal Burgh’s way, earmarked for the children of the town.
However, it now appears that Lanark’s share of the profits from the two Silver Bell races held so far at Hamilton has gone mainly, if not entirely, to kids in Rigside and Carstairs.

Hide AdNow further questions are being asked by the community council to establish if ANY Lanark child has benefited from the deal – or ever will.
