Kirkintilloch pupils were presented with awards in front of local MSP Rona Mackay at St Ninian’s High School’s annual award ceremony on Thursday.

Dozens of top-performing students received recognition for their achievements, and Rona Mackay MSP met some 130 prize-winners for academic excellence, academic success, Caritas awards and special prizes including dux, head teacher’s award and Catholic ethos.

The Strathkelvin and Bearsden MSP said she was honoured to recognise young achievers and talent at the high school.

She said: “I am very proud to have joined such exceptional talent at St Ninian’s High School, during its annual award ceremony.

“I was honoured to attend, so I would like to thank the school for inviting me along to present the awards.

“Young people are top on my agenda as a Member of the Scottish Parliament, so meeting young achievers at St Ninian’s award ceremony was extra special to me.”
