Parents have organised a public meeting to discuss how to save a nursery from closing in just a few weeks time.

Parents have vowed to fight to save the popular Honeypot Nursery in Moodiesburn after it was announced it would shut at then end of June because of financial difficulties. It’s run by the charitable group, The Spark Initiative.

A public meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 5, in the Auchengeich Miners Club at 7pm and parents are hoping for a good turnout.

Liz Wishart, whose son Sam attends Honeypot, said: “Until the doors are closed we will keep fighting. Hopefully this week there will be more positive news in terms of what we can do.”

Concerned parents say that the local authority nurseries in the area are full.

North Lanarkshire Council say they are helping parents find alternative nurseries.
