Strathkelvin and Bearsden MSP Fiona McLeod had a couple of special guests at the Scottish Parliament recently - Action for Hearing Loss’s Irene Fyfe and her hearing dog Muffin.
They were telling her about a drop-in service at Bishopbriggs Library on the first Monday of the month from 10am-noon for hearing aid users.
The service gives access to free maintenance, information and support for NHS hearing aid wearers.
Ms McLeod said: “I met with local Action for Hearing Loss volunteer Irene Fyfe a number of times, but most recently she was telling me about the launch of the new service for hearing aid users in East Dunbartonshire.
“Irene wears a hearing aid herself and has the help of a hearing dog – Muffin – in her day-to-day business, but she dedicates her time to helping other users get the most out of their hearing aid and live life to the max.”
