A BUSY road in Bishopbriggs will be closed for nearly two months, it has been revealed.

Residents in Bishopbriggs are being advised that essential gas works will be carried out in Menteith Avenue this summer.

From the evening of Sunday, June 16, until Sunday, August 11, Menteith Avenue will be shut between Woodhill Road and Hazel Dene to allow Scotland Gas Networks to renew the existing gas main.

Traffic diversions will be in place and will be clearly signed.

Convener of development and infrastructure, Councillor Alan Moir, asked residents to bear with SGN and said: “In an attempt to minimise disruption the roadworks have been planned to coincide with the school holidays.”
