A service that provides alternative care arrangements for some of the most vulnerable children and young people in East Dunbartonshire has received a glowing report from the Care Inspectorate.
Ferndale Children’s Residential Unit in Kirkintilloch provides alternative care arrangements for children and young people from the ages six-18 years.
The unit provides a positive nurturing environment for all children who live there.
Ferndale’s quality of care and support, environment, staff and management and leadership were all rated as Grade 5 (Very Good) by the Care Inspectorate - the second highest grade available.
Councillor Michael O’Donnell, convener of the council’s social work committee, congratulated staff and management.
He said: “The feedback received from the inspection was exceptionally positive with no recommendations or requirements included in the report, which highlights the excellent work that is carried out by the team at Ferndale.”
