Police are appealing for witnesses after a 22-year-old man was hospitalised following an assault on a golf course.

The victim was approached by three men and a woman on the fourth hole of Littlehill Golf Course, in Balornock, at around 8pm on Sunday night.

The men attacked him and left him with head and leg injuries. He is currently being treated at Glasgow Royal Infirmary where his condition is described as “serious but stable”.

Detective Inspector David Mackie said: “We will be speaking to the victim to try and get more detailed descriptions of the suspects. At this time, we know that one had red hair, one was heavy built with brown hair and the third male was tall with brown hair. The female may have an eye injury of some sort.

“I would appeal to anyone who was on the golf course and saw this attack or saw the suspects in the area either before or after 8pm on Sunday night to come forward.”

Witnesses should call 0141 532 4116.
