PASTOR Stephen Marr showed he had a way with words recently as he prepared to take part in a world record attempt.
The pastor is one of a team of volunteers who will be taking part in the world’s first ‘Read the Bible in a Day’ challenge at Chryston United Free Church on Saturday.
For the challenge the Bible text will be split into 1,200 sections. Stephen hopes to complete the challenge with the help of his congregation, volunteers and members of the Scottish Bible Society in eight hours. It’s part of the celebrations to mark the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible.
Stephen (pictured) said: “A lot of people read the Bible, but this is something we can do as a church in the wider Christian community.”
He is keen for people to come along and help complete the massive task. The reading challenge starts at 9am on Saturday in Chryston United Free Church in Church Road, Muirhead.
