A Good Samaritan stepped in after a Kirkintilloch mum appealed for help when her daughter, who has special needs, lost her teddy in the town centre.

Local woman Sara Dansen gifted a duplicate teddy to the two-year-old after spotting the plea on the Herald’s Facebook page.

Mum Rowena Price said on Saturday: “Happy ending! Sara just delivered a duplicate and my darling daughter has accepted it as her own which is a big thing!

“I don’t think we would have got anywhere without the Kirky Herald, so many thanks!

Rowena added: “My daughter is being assessed for autism, so losing it was really hard for her to accept. It was her comfort blanket.”

The teddy vanished somewhere between Poundland in Regent Street and Santander at Cowgate on Friday.
