Have your say on hours pupils spend in primary school

East Dunbartonshire Council have launched a review into primary school hours - with parents invited to have their say.

Currently, children starting P1 in East Dunbartonshire attend school in the morning only until after the September weekend. This has been the case for a number of years with arrangements varying across different council areas.

Education convener Councillor Eric Gotts said: “It’s important that we listen to what local families have to say and that we continually review everything we do to ensure that we are getting it right.

“In some councils, P1 children start full days almost straight away while others favour similar models to our own. We are giving the parents of East Dunbartonshire the opportunity to tell us what they think of current arrangements.”

A letter has been sent to parents with children already in P1 and to those with children in nursery, inviting them to take part in the survey at www.eastdunbarton.gov.uk/P1hours

The consultation closes at 5pm on Friday, November 7, with hard copies available at schools and hubs.
