A former history teacher is hoping Herald readers can help her trace the rightful owner of a piece of war history.
Aileen McIntosh was working at Thomas Muir High School, in Bishopbriggs, more than 10 years ago when somebody handed in a World War One service medal to use as part of a school project.
But the item was never picked up and now Aileen hopes to find the family of the war hero.
The medal is in the name of Private J Armstrong, regiment number 24860, who served with the Royal Scots duringt he conflict.
If you have any information about the owner, or if you are a descendant of Private Armstrong, contact the Herald on 0141 775 0040 or email email@example.com and we’ll pass on the details.
