Help to make a real difference and learn some new skills

Scottish Waterways Trust is calling on volunteers to help maintain the sensory gardens at Auchinstarry Marina, near Kilsyth.

The organisation’s LEAF Group will be planting, weeding, and designing the layout of the garden and are hoping for help on Thursday, October 22, from 10am.

If you go, dress for the weather and wear sturdy footwear and bring your lunch Scottish Waterways Trust will provide everything else.

John McGowan, who is co-ordinating the project said: “Everybody can get involved in their local outdoor spaces.

“From the smallest individual action to a national campaign, every contribution helps. The Volunteering Matters Action Earth Awards are designed to help groups of volunteers take practical action to improve and create places for wildlife.”
