Hit and run in Kirkintilloch: Police pursue positive line of inquiry

Police are following a positive line of inquiry after a man was seriously injured in a hit and run in Kirkintilloch last week.

Detectives are treating the incident at Braehead Street around 11pm on Monday, August 24 as attempted murder.

The 37-year-old man was struck by a silver saloon car which mounted the pavement.

He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where his condition was described as serious but stable.

Officers carried out door-to-door enquiries and gathered CCTV images in an effort to locate the car.

Police said two men were inside the vehicle and appealed for witnesses.

On Monday, a police spokesman said: “Detectives are following a positive line of inquiry.”
