A random picture from a Dash Cam – whether on a car, motorbike or even bicycle – could hold the vital key to the identity of a gunman.

That is just one line of enquiry police are pursuing in their Kirkintolloch-based major investigation into the September 24 shooting near Bishopbriggs’ Dornoch Place.

A main focus is the burned-out car grey Volkswagen Golf with the registration plate FR12 PYB which was recovered in the area of Wood Lane, only a short distance from the scene of the crime.

This vehicle was reported stolen in March this year.

Meanwhile detectives have re-visited the scene to speak to residents, parents and people working in the area.

They’ve been stopping and interviewing people in an attempt to jog their memories about the incident.

The prime suspect is a man in his mid to late 40s, around 5 ft 10” to 6 ft in height, with a heavy build, wearing a high-visibility reflective yellow colour jacket with the hood pulled up.

He was carrying a silver-coloured hand-gun.

Anyone who has any information linked to the incident or the people involved is urged to contact police on 101.
