Hunt for hula-gan who torched postbox

A THUG sporting a Hawaiian hula skirt is being hunted by police after setting fire to a postbox North Glasgow.

Three suspects – including the cross-dressking crook – set paper alight and threw it into the postbox in Auchenbothie Crescent, Robroyston, at around midnight on Sunday night.

The trio, all wearing dark hoodies, are also thought to have damaged a gate and plant pots at a garden in the street.

Meanwhile police are after two knife thugs who attacked a man in Springburn.

The 38-year-old was walking in Hawthorn Street when he was struck on the head from behind and kicked about the body.

The attackers then tried to slash the victim on the face with a knife. The man used his hands to cover his face and ended up with injuries to his hands.

He went to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Police are treating the incident, which took place on Thursday, May 5, at around 10.10pm, as a serious assault.

One suspect is described as being aged 20 to 25, around 5ft 6ins to 5ft 7ins tall, of slim build, with dark brown hair.

The other suspect is described as being of similar appearance.
