Keep fit fans in East Dunbartonshire should be aware that the Leisuredrome in Bishopbriggs will be closed for a period to allow the centre to be used for the Scottish Independence Referendum Count on September 18.
Polls close on the night at 10pm, however the centre will close from 6pm to allow preparations to be made for the event.
The main hall will close earlier, at 12noon. It is hoped to have the centre up and running again at the usual time of 7.30am the following day, although the main games hall will be closed for most of the morning on Friday, September 19.
Mark Grant, of East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture Trust, said: “We apologise in advance to our customers for any inconvenience this may cause.
“There is a great deal of interest in the referendum and there will be teams from various media outlets covering the event.
“We hope to re-open the following day by 7.30am, although this may be later if the count takes longer than expected.”
He added: “We will do our best to have the centre back to normal as early as possible.”
If you have any queries about the closure please call the Culture and Leisure Trust on 0141 777 3060.
