Police are continuing to investigate a horror smash which saw a car crash through the wall of a family home.

The Vauxhall Astra careered through a fence and wall before coming to rest in the living room of a house on Waterside Road, in Kirkintilloch.

Lindy and Stephen Wright are understood to have been at home with their children Holy and Scott when the drama unfolded at around 7pm on Monday (October 27).

But miraculously police say that there were no “serious or significant injuries”.

A 21-year-old man, thought to be the driver of the car, made himself known to police officers at the scene and has given his version of events to crash investigators.

Police say that the car is now being examined as part of an ongoing investigation.
