Bishopbriggs Academy pupils and teachers recently took part in their first ever ‘Jeans for Genes’.
The event raised an amazing £576.15, with everybody taking part donating £1 to wear jeans to school.
The money went to the charity Genetic Disorders UK and will now be used to pay for nurses, carers and research to treat and try to stop genetic disorders such as, Rett Syndrome and Tay-Sachs
S6 pupils Morgan Woodward and Rachel McNaughton said: “It was really fun to take part in this great cause and to know we were helping people.
“We think Jeans for Genes day was a really good cause and I hope it becomes an annual event at Bishopbriggs Academy.”
