Jewellery stolen in Bishopbriggs raid and man caught with drugs in Kirkintilloch

POLICE officers have been busy in and around East Dunbartonshire in the past week.

* JEWELLERY and around £300 in cash was stolen from a house last week.

The property in Faskally Avenue, in Bishopbriggs, was targeted overnight between Friday, January 25, and Saturday, January 26.

The police are urging anybody with any information about the break-in to contact them on 0141 532 4400.

* A MOTORIST has been charged with drink driving in the early hours of the morning.

The driver was stopped by police at around 12.50am on Sunday, January 27, in Kelvin View, Twechar.

* POLICE have charged a man with possession of drugs after allegedly catching him with cannabis.

The 23-year-old man was arrested in Old Aisle Road, Kirkintilloch, at around 6.50pm on Saturday, January 26.

A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
