A JOBS fair is being held in Kirkintilloch next week – aimed at helping people to find work or new opportunities.
East Dunbartonshire MP Jo Swinson has teamed up with Jobcentre Plus to hold the event on Thursday, September 26, from 10.30am-1pm at Southbank Marina.
Ms Swinson said: “Any young or unemployed person in East Dunbartonshire who would like information on jobs or modern apprenticeships should come along to the fair to find out more.
“It will be a great opportunity for people to get advice, make some contacts and hopefully secure a position to kick-start their career.
“Information can also be found on my website which will continue to be updated in the lead-up to the event – www.joswinson.org.uk/east-dunbartonshire-jobs-fair-2013/.”
Catriona Lindsay, district manager for Jobcentre Plus, said: “Job fairs are a great way for people to get the chance to speak directly to several employers, all under the one roof. The opportunity to speak face to face with someone can be a real advantage.
“Employment advisers and training partners will also be on hand to help people improve their CVs and interview technique, and give information on retraining.
“I’d encourage anyone considering going back to work to come along. They may be pleasantly surprised by the kind of opportunities and all the help that’s out there for them.”
The fair is being held at Southbank Marina, Suite F4, Southbank Business Park, Kirkintilloch.
