POLICE are investigating after a community hub was broken into over the weekend.

The Kirkintilloch Community Hub, based in the town’s William Patrick Library, was targeted in the early hours of Sunday, October 6.

A council spokesperson said police carried out a forensic examination of the area, adding: “The building is open for business as usual this morning although customers will not be able to use cash services to pay bills until further notice.”

Speaking on Monday, Ann Davie, the council’s director of customer services and transformation, said: “We assisted the police yesterday and are working with them today as their investigation continues.”
