A popular community fun day in Bearsden celebrates its fifth anniversary this year and promises to be “even bigger and better than before.”

The annual event in Langfaulds Field which is off Nevis Road in the Bonnaughton area of Bearsden is being held on Saturday, August 27 from 1pm to 5pm.

There will be loads of activities to suit all ages including a state-of-the-art 24 ft (7.3m) mobile rock climbing wall and a new Spider Mountain attraction.

Alan Wells, one of the organisers from Castlehill Baptist Church, said: “The climbing wall is always very popular with kids and there will be lots of other great activities on the day such as children’s races, a dog show, a bouncy castle, puppet and dog shows.

“After last year’s stunning success, it is hoped that the whole community will again come along for a great community day out.

“Whatever the weather throws at us we’ll have fun and enjoy getting together for our annual community event.”

Caulders Garden Centre will be hosting workshops in the marquee to show off the latest plants for the late summer.

Staff will also be on hand to give you tips on what to do in your garden in the autumn.

Refreshments will be available in the tea tents and Domino’s Pizza will be on site once again.

Entrance to the event is free of charge. To keep up to date with what’s happening follow their facebook page “Castlehill Community Fun Day.”
