This week is the last chance to get tickets for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Those who were unsuccessful in the initial round are getting the first chance to get tickets, on a first-come, first-serve basis, today (Tuesday).

Tickets for many sports are still up for grabs, including rugby sevens, badminton, hockey and boxing as well as for the opening and closing ceremonies.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) people who received some of their requested tickets will also be able to access the ticketing website. Then on Friday and Saturday everyone who applied for tickets will have an exclusive second chance to buy more before all remaining tickets go on general public sale.

There were 2.3 million tickets requested for up to one million available when they were released in August.

Ty Speer, deputy chief executive of Glasgow 2014 said: “We have been really delighted with the phenomenal demand for tickets since the opening of applications, but the message to everyone is there are still great tickets available to experience great sport in Glasgow next summer.”
