A Kirkintilloch beauty has won third place in the Miss Scotland contest.
Laura Paterson (19) beat competition from more than 1,000 others to make it to the final 10.
The former Kirkintilloch High School pupil was delighted to take the third place title during the final ceremony last night (Wednesday) at Glasgow’s Old Fruitmarket.
The girls were put through their paces in a Highland dance routine, bikini and evening wear round and a question session.
Jamey Bowers, from Edinburgh, was crowned the winner and won a whopping £10,000 in prize money.
Laura, who works for the BBC on an education website, said: “I couldn’t believe it when they said my name. To get to the top three from 1,000 girls is amazing. I never expected it.”
