THE search for boffins of the future is one of the key aims of the new man in charge of Glasgow Science Centre.
Dr Stephen Breslin, who lives in Lennoxtown, is the five-star attraction’s new chief executive officer.
Stephen (44) says he is dedicated to driving the centre forward to become a key player in inspiring the scientists and engineers of tomorrow.
He said: “Igniting an interest in and helping young people discover the pleasure and relevance of maths, science, engineering and technology will be key to helping them develop the skills they need to create fulfilling and prosperous futures for themselves.”
“Organisations like Glasgow Science Centre have a critical role to play in this.”
Stephen (44) is married with two daughters. He graduated from the University of Strathclyde in 1989 with a B Eng (Hons) in mechanical engineering.
In 1990, Stephen graduated with a MSc in control systems and IT from the University of Sheffield and achieved a PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Strathclyde in 1997.
Stephen had been chief executive of London-based educational thinktank Futurelab since 2008.
