Concerns over plans to relocate Lenzie Post Office have been lodged in the Scottish Parliament.

West of Scotland MSP Jackson Carlaw has submitted a motion about the proposed move of the branch to the Scotmid store in Gallowhill Road.

The motion includes the following: “That the Parliament notes with concern the proposed closure of Lenzie Post Office and its relocation to Gallowhill Road, Kirkintilloch; believes the Post Office to serve residents in Auchinloch and to be an intrinsic part of the Lenzie community, a community which would not see a benefit from this proposed relocation.”

The consultation on Lenzie Post Office ends on June 11. If approved, the move would go ahead by July.
