TOWNS and villages across East Dunbartonshire are getting ready to shine for the festive season.
Kirkintilloch officially kicked off the festive countdown on Saturday when council leader Rhondda Geekie and guests turned on the town’s Christmas lights in Regent Gardens (above).
Bishopbriggs is now set to light up for the festive season tomorrow (Thursday) when Councillor Una Walker will switch on the town’s Christmas lights at The Triangle at 5pm.
A fun fair and other activities will be available from 3pm-6pm. This Friday (December 2) Councillor John Dempsey will turn on Lennoxtown’s Christmas lights.
The official switch-on will take place at 5pm and a fun fair will be available from 3pm-6pm in the housing office car park.
And on Saturday (December 3) Lenzie Gala Queen Emily Bell will switch on the village’s Christmas lights at 5.30pm.
A carol concert by Lenzie Christian Fellowship will take place in Lenzie Old Parish Church at 5.15pm before the switch-on and Santa is also set to make an appearance.
