77-year-old woman in critical condition after horror crash
A PENSIONER is fighting for her life after being knocked down on a busy Springburn road last week.
Strathclyde Police is appealing for witnesses and information after the serious road accident at around 3.40pm on Tuesday, October 16.
A 77-year-old woman was crossing the northbound lane of Springburn Road, near to the junction with Petershill Road, when she was struck by a Vauxhall Corsa which was travelling northbound.
She was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary suffering from serious injuries to her head and body. The last update was that she is currently in hospital in a “critical condition”.
The 33-year-old driver of the Vauxhall Corsa was uninjured.
The road was closed for several hours whilst investigations took place.
Sergeant William Graham, of the divisional road policing unit at Kirkintilloch, is appealing for witnesses to the crash to contact him on 0141 532 4400.
