A festival of fun for youngsters throughout East Dunbartonshire

Forget T in the Park or Glastonbuy - if you’re under five, this festival’s for you!

Brand new for 2014, the Early Years Fest is especially for little ones, with tales of Old McDonald, his three pigs and French ice cream.

Go along and get creative in fun and messy workshops, enjoy family shows, celebrate Bookbug Week in style at special Bookbug sessions, and much more.

Booking is essential for creative workshops and fun family shows, which are being held across East Dunbartonshire from Wednesday, May 21 – Saturday, May 24.

The Programme includes: Booster Cushion presents ‘Old McDonald and the 3 Pigs Plus’ at Lenzie Public Hall and Twechar Healthy Living and Enterprise Centre.

A fun family show weaving the song ‘Old McDonald’ with the story of the Three Pigs.

Toddling Tours - calling all parents, carers, grandparents, child-minders!

Bring your curious toddlers for a roam around the Auld Kirk Museum and the Lillie Art Gallery in Kirkintilloch.

Staff will make art and museums accessible and fun for toddlers, talking about colour, texture and all sorts.

Is your little one story daft? Come along to the new workshop Arty Craft Story Daft and become immersed in a fantastic story book, then create something fabulous inspired by the story to take home and display with pride!

Join Lapin and friends for another wonderful family show Lapin Wants Ice Cream, at Woodhill Evangelical Church.

Just back from French Brittany, Tania has brought in her suitcase a tiny beach where Lapin, the French rabbit, has made his holiday home. But it is hot!

Join author Vivian French, author of fabulous books such as Tiara Club, Draglins, Sparkle Street and many more, to celebrate Early Years Fest at Westerton Library and Bishopbriggs Library

Scott Hill, chair of the East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture Trust said: “This is the first time we have held this festival and there’s a lot of excitement as it gives us a great opportunity to reach out to a younger audience.”

There are further details of everything that’s going on during Early Years Fest, in the April-June What’s On, on the homepage of the Trust website at www.edlc.co.uk
