A vicious attack on a cat leaves youngster heartbroken

A YOUNG girl and her mum have been left devastated after their cat was killed by a dog.

Nine month old Mischa was targeted by a dog, believed to be a Lurcher, in their front garden in Glenconner Way in Merkland, Kirkintilloch.

Therese Gillies and her daughter Maia (11), were told what happened to Mischa by a neighbour, who witnessed the tragic incident.

Therese said: “I’m so angry about a dog being off the lead. Mischa hadn’t come home so we put flyers on lampposts and went round the neighbours.

“I got a phone call for a neighbour who had seen it happen and the dog ran off with her. I’m sure there must be an owner of this dog.

“I hope they think twice about letting their dog off the lead.”

“Maia is devastated. It’s left a huge hole in our lives.”

The attack on Mischa took place on the morning of Tuesday, July 10.
