Alert motorist struggles with would-be crook

A WOULD-be car thief was scared away by a Kirkintilloch resident after being caught in the act.

The crook was caught leaning into a car parked in Moss Road having smashed its window at around 5.25am on Sunday, February 12.

The car owner, heard a noise and went out to investigate. There was a short struggle before the thief ran away empty handed.

The man is described as being 30-40-years-old, around 5ft8in, thin, bald, with a Glasgow accent and was wearing a cap, black jacket and denims.
