Amazing singers hit the right note – nearly 30,000 of them in fact!
CHAS Cheque from SCFC
BISHOPBRIGGS singers and musicians have raised an amazing £29,500 for charity.
The cash from the 10th annual concert of the Springfield Cambridge Festival Chorus and Orchestra has gone to the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS).
The Christmas concert was the most successful yet in terms of cash raised for CHAS.
The event, entitled ‘Rejoice’, was staged at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow.
It featured a blend of seasonal music, old and new, put together by musical director Alan A. Craig, from Lennoxtown. The ecumenical choir, which performs under the auspices of Bishopbriggs Churches Together, has now raised more than £130,000 over the last decade for CHAS.
The latest bumper cheque was presented to Victoria Cartwright, from CHAS (pictured on the right) by Christine Sinclair, leader of the Springfield Cambridge Festival Chorus Orchestra, and Alan A. Craig at the group’s presentation dinner at Bishopbriggs Golf Club.
