Community spirit is still alive and well in Bearsden with residents looking forward to an even bigger and better Langfaulds Field Family Fun day this year.
This is the third year for the event which will be held on Saturday, August 23 in the field just off Nevis Road.
The community day has gone from strength to strength since it started in 2012 and although it mainly attracts people from the Castlehill, Baljaffray and Bonnaughton areas it’s open to everyone in the area.
The fun is from 1pm until 5pm and there will be lots of the old favourites from last year’s phenomenally successful event - which attracted 1,000 people - such as the climbing wall along with great, new exciting stuff including a brand new spider mountain.
For quieter moments during the afternoon, Renita Boyle will be there with her unique storytelling and puppets show for the children.
This year also sees Kirkintilloch dog display team, the Allander Jazz Band, New Kilpatrick Scottish country dance team and Bearsden Academy samba band taking part and much more.
Dominos Pizza and a tea tent will provide the sustenance for what promises to be another great day for the whole community.
Organiser, Rev Alan Wells of Castlehill Baptist Church, said: “This is our third community fun day and we can’t wait!
“This year it will be even bigger and better than last year.
“Last year we got great reviews after an enormously successful event to which over a thousand people came.
“This confirmed what we always thought - communities love to get together.
“And we will be doing that again this Saturday, whatever the weather throws at us!”
