Armed cops called out to quiet village
ARMED police rushed to the small village of Twechar after a reported gun scare on Saturday night.
However, it later emerged that the emergency call to police was a sick hoax.
A 17-year-old had allegedly claimed that somebody had been shot in the centre of the village.
Officers were able to trace the guilty party and arrested him shortly afterwards.
Police have warned that they take such incidents very seriously as they waste resources which could urgently be needed elsewhere.
