Best years of your life? Primary school rolls back the years...
PUPILS, teachers, staff and parents at a primary school will take a trip down memory lane for a golden celebration.
Wester Cleddens Primary, in Bishopbriggs, marks it 50th anniversary this year.
Pupils and staff, past and present, are invited to get in touch with any photographs or stories for a celebratory open evening which will be held in the school in June.
Paul Meehan, head teacher at Wester Cleddens Primary, said: “Everyone involved with the school is extremely excited at the prospect of celebrating this milestone.
“In my time at Wester Cleddens I’ve been overwhelmed by the fondness for the school from all of those with a connection to it and from within our local community.
“We have numerous pupils whose parents and grannies attended the school.
“We have staff that attended the school as pupils and have returned to work and teach.”
Mr Meehan added: “I am sure there are many people, past pupils and their parents, as well as former staff who would love to come along and celebrate with us. Our 50th anniversary committee has been working tirelessly to organise events, including an open evening on June 13.
“I am very proud to be the head teacher in a fantastic ‘community school’ and look forward to celebrating our anniversary with all who hold a fondness for this special place.”
