Brilliant bowlers are really sum-pin special!

GOING on strike helped a caring couple to raise over £2,000 for a great cause.

Sharon and Frank Moncrieff organised a sponsored 12-hour bowl-a-thon to raise funds for Carers Link East Dunbartonshire.

Sharon (47) and Frank (55) bowled continuously from 11am to 11pm at Pro Bowl, in Kirkintilloch.

They played 53 games, notched up 153 strikes and knocked over a total of 13,317 pins during the challenge.

Sharon and Frank, who are both keen bowlers, were overwhelmed by the support they received for the charity event.

Sharon, who is partially sighted, is the volunteer manager with Carers Link.

She said: “We’re absolutely delighted with the money raised. We had a lot of support on the day from volunteers and staff.”
