Clubs praying for a good turnout ... and nice weather!
ARE your youngsters bored during the summer holidays? The solution could be heaven-sent...
Churches across East Dunbartonshire are praying for good weather as they prepare to launch their summer clubs.
Groups for primary school-aged children will run during the first two weeks of August and will feature a variety of fun activities – including sports, games, crafts and Bible stories.
The season kicks off with Riverside Gospel Church's Ant Hill Club, which runs from Monday, July 26, to Friday, July 30, from 6.30pm in Oxgang Primary School.
Harestanes Baptist Church will then hold its holiday club in Harestanes Community Centre from Monday, August 2, to Friday, August 6, from 10am until noon.
Milton of Campsie Parish and Kirkintilloch Baptist Church will also run their clubs at this time.
The three Bishopbriggs churches, Cadder, Kenmure and Springfield Cambridge, have arranged their Rocky's Plaice club as a joint venture in Springfield Cambridge Church's Stirling Hall from Monday, August 2, to Friday, August 6, from 10.15am-noon.
Finally, St David's Memorial Park Church will run its Champions Challenge club from Monday, August 9, to Thursday, August 13, from 10am-noon.
Campsie Parish Church will also hold their Rocky's Plaice event that week from 6pm-8pm.
The Reverend Bryce Calder, minister at St David's Memorial Park Church, said: "I'm really looking forward to this year's holiday club. It will be great fun, full of sports, games and activities. It will be fantastic if lots of children come along."
