Baldernock Cemetery will
be a more ‘peaceful’ setting for visitors, thanks to a
refurbishment by East Dunbartonshire Council.
The memorial garden has been improved by council staff to provide a more pleasant environment for those wishing to sit by the graves of loved ones.
The council cleaned the sandstone wall; have replaced both the plants and the chipped stones while also cut ting back the overhanging vegetation.
Furthermore, the memorial benches – which were donated by members of the public – have also been re-stained and freshened up.
Councillor Ashay Ghai, convener of neighbourhood services and depute leader of the council said: “We are pleased we have been able to make the memorial garden a more pleasant for visiting friends and relatives.
“The benches we have re-instated offer a nice place for people to spend time in a peaceful setting remembering their loved ones.”
