East Dunbartonshire Council’s website has retained its four star status - the highest possible rating.
It’s one of only six local authorities in Scotland to achieve the website rating following the 16th annual survey of all 433 UK local authority websites in the SOCITM (Society of Information Technology Management) 2014 Better Connected survey.
The website received positive feedback from the survey of 259 questions reviewers used to explore how quickly and easily they could complete tasks, such as finding out about a local councillor and how to report things online. Council leader Rhondda Geekie said: “Over the last year we have continued to work on and improve our website, ensuring it is up to date and that where possible, customers can engage with us and request services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
“The four star rating is positive recognition for this and I am delighted that customers have found the website both accessible and easy to navigate.
“Our website is a key element of our transformation programme and at the heart of our ‘click, call, come-in’ model for customer services delivery.
“We are acutely aware that digital technology is forever changing and we will be continuing to prioritise development of the site to ensure that it is able to deliver increasing numbers of online services that meet the needs of our customers.”
