The future of two primary schools will be up for debate at a special meeting of East Dunbartonshire Council on Thursday.

Councillors will be voting on whether to proceed with controversial plans to merge Kirkintilloch’s St Flannan’s and St Agatha’s primaries at a new school to be built on the current St Flannan’s site.

They will also consider a merger between St Joseph’s Primary, in Milngavie, and St Andrew’s, in Bearsden.
