Development plans raise fears for nature reserve

A MUCH-loved local nature reserve could be under threat by proposals from a rugby club.
Lenzie Rugby Football Club wants to relocate its clubhouse and pitches to a site which borders Lenzie Moss.
Up to 48 new houses could be built on the greenbelt site of the current club house and pitches - 12 of which could be affordable housing.
A further eight homes could also be built on a another part of the land.
The proposals could also impact on Lenzie Moss Primary with access likely to be through the existing car park.
The rugby club gained more land following an exchange with East Dunbartonshire Council.
The site is one of over 60 which have been submitted to the council as part of the preparation of a new Local Development Plan.
However, the development has sparked concern among residents and the Friends of Lenzie Moss. A Save Lenzie Moss Group has also been set up.
