Devil dog ripped my dog apart, says distraught owner

A DEVASTATED dog owner has been left distraught after a horror attack which killed his beloved pet.

Kara, a three-year-old mongrel, was savaged by a bull terrier type dog.

The shocking attack happened when Kara's owner Robert Guy was in his friend's front garden in Waterloo Street, Kirkintilloch on Saturday, August 28 around 11.20am.

Robert's daughter Marion said: "My dad is totally distraught. This dog just jumped over the fence and attacked Kara.

"My dad was hitting it with a brush to get it off. It ripped Kara apart."

Police confirmed that a dog has been put down and a 27-year-old woman has been charged under the Dangerous Dogs Act for being in control of the dog at the time of the incident.

In the last week, three young girls in Scotland have been seriously injured after being attacked by dogs.
