Disaster inspires new show at Kirkintilloch museum

A NEW art exhibition which focuses in on one of Scotland’s worst agricultural disasters opened at the weekend.

‘Clearances’, at Kirkintilloch’s Auld Kirk Museum, looks at the 2001 Foot and Mouth outbreak through the eyes of Glasgow artist Pearl Kinnear.

Pearl has worked extensively in East Dunbartonshire, teaching art in the community, and this marks her first solo show at the museum.

The exhibition runs until June 16.
