An 18-year-old has died following a road accident in Aberdeen

POLICE have launched a probe after a man was tragically killed in a collision with a taxi at the weekend.

The man, who was around 30 to 35-years-old, died after being hit by the silver Vauxhall Vectra taxi on Saracen Street, Possilpark, at around 10.35pm on Saturday.

Police are now trying to identify the dead man.

He is described as being around 5ft 2ins, of medium build and approximately 60kg in weight. He had dark brown, slightly-receding hair in a crew cut and was wearing size seven Adidas Hi-Top trainers, a dark tracksuit and t-shirt, and a yellow metal bracelet.

Sergeant Stuart Bell is currently carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances leading up to the incident and is keen to talk to the drivers or passengers of several vehicles in the area at the time.
