Don’t let criminals put the wind up you!

BE on your guard for ‘chancers’ operating in your area after recent bad weather.

That’s the warning from consumer champions – particularly to elderly residents.

According to East Dunbartonshire Trading Standards, bogus workmen have tried to persuade residents to agree to unnecessary property repairs or to pay excessive sums for work done to damaged property.

To contact Trading Standards call 0141 578 8813.

Meanwhile, police are telling people to keep doors and windows locked.

An MP3 player, a camera and a camcorder were taken from a house in Duntiblae Road, Kirkintilloch, on Tuesday night (January 17).

Anyone with information about the theft or who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area is asked to contact the police on 0141 532 4400.
