The search is on for the bright lights of the business world which employ and serve people across East Dunbartonshire and beyond.
The 2014 East Dunbartonshire Business Awards are now officially underway - to recognise and celebrate the local firms and enterprises providing vital services, leisure activities and jobs.
The search for brilliant businesses and outstanding entrepreneurs will culminate in a gala evening on 9 May, with 10 prizes to be handed out on the night.
Nominations are being sought in the following categories:
○ Start-up Business
○ Best use of E-Commerce
○ Hospitality, Leisure & Tourism Business
○ Social Enterprise
○ People Development
○ Growth Business
○ Independent Retailer
○ Large Employer
○ Young Business Person
○ Business of the Year
The closing date for nominations is 11 April. Forms are available via the East Dunbartonshire Council website - www.eastdunbarton.gov.uk/businessawards - and packs can also be sent out. Call 0141 578 8530 or e-mail email@example.com.
The gala evening - to be held at The Eagle Lodge in Bishopbriggs - will also include a charity fundraiser in aid of a number of local organisations.
Former FIFA football referee Willie Young - chairman of a leading Scottish legal firm - will be the guest speaker.
Each winner will receive a trophy, certificate and a branded media pack, including logos for use on websites, company vehicles and other promotional materials.
Tickets will be available to purchase prior to the awards evening. Details will be provided via the Council website and social media, as well as the local media.

“The 2014 East Dunbartonshire Business Awards are a great chance to recognise the achievements of local businesses - who contribute so much to this area in terms of investment, employment and services.
“If you are a business within East Dunbartonshire which has achieved outstanding success over the past year then I would encourage you to nominate yourself.
“Also, if you are aware of a local business which you feel deserves some recognition for their growth, development, success and innovation over the last year, then I would also encourage you to submit a nomination on their behalf.”
