Famous tower blocks feature in new exhibition
A YEAR long exhibition about life in the iconic Red Road flats in North Glasgow is on show at the People’s Palace.
Red Road: Past, Present, Future explores the history of the flats, social housing and its legacy on Glasgow and features the creative projects which were staged as part of the Red Road Cultural Project.
The first of the blocks were demolished last year as part of Glasgow Housing Association’s regeneration of the city.
The remaining buildings are due to come down within the next four years.
The exhibition is being run in partnership between Glasgow Life and GHA.
Councillor Archie Graham, Chair of Glasgow Life said: “Everyone knew about the Red Road flats but only those who lived, worked and visited knew what it was like to live there.”
The exhibition is running at the People’s Palace in Glasgow Green.
