Final chance for tiny dancers with the world at their feet!

A TALENTED dance troupe has reached the live finals of a hit TV show after wowing celebrity judges with their performance.

The five-piece group Mini Moves – which includes member Jo Dempsey (11) from Stepps – was chosen as one of two acts to go through to the final of Sky 1’s ‘Got to Dance’ on March 17.

The public voted for the group after their impressive performance to ‘Wings’ by girl band Little Mix.

Mini Moves received great feedback from the judges – Ashley Banjo (of dance troupe Diversity), Kimberly Wyatt (from The Pussycat Dolls), and Aston Merrygold (of boy band JLS).

They will now join 10 other acts in the final.

The girls are trained by Robert Hamilton of Dancepoint Musical Theatre School, in Glasgow.

They are now in the running to win £250,000, which will be used to improve their dance school.

Jo, who attends Stepps Primary, recently performed with Mini Moves to classmates at the school.

She said: “It feels amazing and I’m so happy to be in the final. When I heard our names being read out it was so unexpected.”

Jo’s mum Heather, dad Mark and big sister Katie (14) were at the semi-final to see Mini Moves voted through.

Heather said: “It was very emotional. They were absolutely amazing and we are very proud of them.”

The families would like to thank everyone who has voted and are urging them to keep voting in the finals.

Coatbridge and Chryston MSP Elaine Smith recently tabled a motion in the Scottish Parliament to congratulate Mini Moves on their achievement.
