Finally getting somewhere on new road for Bishobriggs?
Bishopbriggs Cross
THE next stage of a long-awaited new road will be completed next year.
Phases three and four of the Bishopbriggs Relief Road have still to be finished.
Residents have been calling for its completion to help ease traffic congestion going through the town centre.
The area could get even busier if plans for a new Morrisons store go ahead.
Dominic Notarangelo, chairman of Bishopbriggs Community Council, said: “We really want to see the road completed sooner rather than later.”
Thomas Glen, East Dunbartonshire Council’s head of development and enterprise service, said: “The housing developer for Bishopbriggs East is responsible for construction of phase three and based on legal agreements has to complete this by the end of 2014.
“The council is responsible for the construction of phase four, which is expected to commence in 2014.”
